Our Staff

We encourage all our staff to gain a Paediatric First Aid certificate, and at a minimum, there will always be a staff member present who has undertaken appropriate First Aid Training including epi-pen use. There is a very well stocked first aid box available to all staff.

In addition, all staff have received appropriate training on how to deal with and record accidents and emergencies. If your child has had an accident whilst at Club Spraoi it will be recorded on an Accident/Incident Report form and you will be asked to sign the form as the child’s parent/carer.

Fiona Murphy

Club Coordinator at Brooklodge NS/Training & Development Manager

My name is Fiona Murphy and I am a Coordinator at Club Spraoi. I graduated from UCC in Social Science in 2010, followed by completing FETAC Level 5 & 6 in Early Years Care & Education. I am qualified in First Aid and have completed Courses on Outdoor Play & Learning, Observations & Documentation and Understanding Children’s Behaviour. I have been working with Club Spraoi since September 2017, beginning my journey as Club Coordinator in Brooklodge National School.

I have worked in a number of Childcare Centres in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand over the last 6 years and have loved every minute of it. Working with children is such a rewarding experience. Kids have the funniest stories and being part of their wild imaginations and world is a great way to spend our days.

One of my favourite parts of my job is meeting so many amazing and unique children, parents and families. Our families depend on us to ensure their children receive the love and care that they need and deserve each day and I love that responsibility and forming relationships with each of them.

I love to be creative and love planning and implementing activities for children to enjoy and also to ensure that these activities benefit children’s holistic development on a daily basis through art & craft, baking, group activities, messy play, experiments and much more.

Susan Hennessey

Play Leader at Brooklodge NS

My name is Susan Hennessy and I am a Play Leader in Club Spraoi Brooklodge National School. I am qualified in First Aid and have completed Child Protection Training.

Having reared my own three children, who are now grown adults, I have many years of experience and expertise in minding and caring for children of all ages. Having watched and helped my children to grow and develop has been the most rewarding part of my life and I love that I now too can carry this over into my working life.

One of my main goals whilst working in After School Care with Club Spraoi is to ensure that all of our children are well looked after, physically and emotionally and that they are receiving all of the nurture, care, love and attention that they deserve each day.

I love thinking up of new games and activities for our children to engage with together, helping them to grow socially, make new friendships and watching these friendships grow.

Our Club Spraoi Community is so much fun and full of love and I look forward to coming here every day.
